blob tracking

Hi
I am trying to track blobs within series of pictures. I have images with a lot of blobs on it and I want to recognize which will be the same one on the next picture. They all have different shapes and sizes. For this I have set a lot of shape parameters, but sometimes it fail on the recognition can you suggest a way of doing it.
