School project

Hi,
i have to make a school project and i have the following situation.
I have to make a large robot that automatic follows me and can carry a load of +-25 kg, i have already bought an arduino and 3 ping sensors but i cant make it work :(. We have non or relative small programming skills learned at school. So i was wondering if someone could help me?
I would be thankfull for all times!

Given those items I'd take a quick look at Makey

which uses those same sensors to  follow objects.
