How to use the VPL GUI and RoboRealm?

I'm using Roborealm with MRDS. The tutorial page worked great and everything installed, but I can't find guidance/documentation on how to use the Roborealm services in the VPL.

Specifically, I need to send data from my real/simulated webcam to Roborealm, then send certain variables from Roborealm back to MRDS. I tried a few things but I'm just groping in the dark.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
