Communicate with NXT over USB - Send variables

Hi, first of all congratulate you guys for having developed this wonderful machine vision application. Great job!
My query is on how to communicate with NXT over USB in real time to send variables from the PC. I´ve read something about the fantom.dll or the NxtUsbComm. I´d be very grateful if you could give me a short reply on the easiest and most efficient way to do this.

I had to install the fantom.dll to get the module to work. If you install the lego mindstorms software it will set the paths and everything appropriately. One of the fellows here used the roborealm API as a bridge to control the NXT. (A bit strange since he wasn't using any camera data! )
