Motor Speeds

I see that the RoboRealm interface for the Lego NXT controls the motors by using the values 0-255, 128 being neutral. The only problem I have is that there is no way for me to modify the SPEED of the motors. Is there are any way to do this?

Kamil,

That is what the dropdown in the motor channel is for. I.e. you would select a variable that will contain the value to send as the speed to the NXT. This variable could be created using the Set_Variable module or the VBScript modules or set via the API or .... many ways to do this.

Once selected the manual interface will become disabled signalling that the motor is now under "variable" or automated control.

Does that make sense?

STeven.

Oh okay, thank you.
This was causing a lot of problems for me in attempting to program rack-n-pinion steering for an nxt project im working on. The motors are set at 100% at default, and it caused my steering to break quite a few times.

Thanks for the quick response,
Kamil.
