I'm trying to get the Hauppauge PVR-150, which is a very popular card, to work with RoboRealm, but nothing's showing on the screen, it just stays black. How can I get the card working?

Thanks in advanced,

Have you tried the Options->Video settings? Ie change the format to something that RR understands like RGB555 or RGB32, etc.

Also, if that still does not work try with other programs to see if you can get an image (like AMCap) ... but make sure not to run them at the same time!

In the format window, I cannot select an other format but hcw2. Is it possible to add a format in here?

Yes, it is "possible" but unfortunately only Hauppauge can do that. What you need for the hcw2 format is a directshow driver. Perhaps if you download some of their support files from

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_pvr150.html#drv

they may have that driver in there. Once you get that driver then RoboRealm will be able to read the information from that camera. Note that the dialog that has the hcw2 list in it is from the driver and not RoboRealm.

The other possibility is to ask Hauppauge for the driver or for a description of the HCW2 format and we'll be happy to add that natively into RoboRealm.

You an also try this site

http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

which seems to have drivers for the chipset onboard many TV Tuner cards.

Also, we think we might be able to add the HCW2 format natively into RoboRealm but as we don't have a card that produces that format we would need the cooperation of someone that does. If you are interested in using RoboRealm with your Hauppauge tuner card with the HCW2 format and are willing to help us out please use the Contract us form to send us a message (and don't forget to include your email address).

Thanks,
STeven.

This is an update to this thread. RoboRealm Version 1.8.0.3 now supports the HCW2 codec format natively. No need for any additional drivers.

Thanks again Steven, for your support.
Hauppauge's PVR-150 works without any problems now. Be sure to select the composite port in the option menu.
