I wanted to know if anyone could recommend a mini wireless web camera that that I could use robo realm with. I need the wireless web camera to be able to send back live video feed to my PC.
What I am trying to do is add a wireless camera to my Lego Mindstorm and user MSRS and roborealm to produce a live video feed highlighting certain objects in the environment
Thanks

How about
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=MINI-WIRELESS-CAM&cpc=RECOM
to send the video and combined with a USB digitizer like
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_usblive.html
should get you what you need. We've used this combo in the past with decent success. Note that the camera signal can easily be disrupted by other devices so it will work better in less noisy places. Not a bad solution for the price.

As I think about this project more I believe I am going to need a wireless IP camera that will allow me to view the image through a browser. The interface I am designing will require the user to access live video from multiple robots as such I am not sure if wireless cameras that use a receiver with a composite video connection will work. The wireless IP cameras will at least allow for the use of frames. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

The cost will increase ... but we've used DLink cameras like
http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=459
but they seemed to stop functioning after a year or so. Not sure if they were just rattled around too much or if overheading due to continuous use was the factor.
Note that these types of cameras also have proprietary transmission protocols and may not be compatible with RoboRealm. If you find one you like let us know and we can do our best before you purchase it to see if it is compatible.

All,
I found a link on how to access wireless ip cameras. The authors states that axis ip routers are the best for quality and from a developers stand point. http://www.axis.com/products/video/camera/. I also found another link that shows how to create C# code to access a ip camera and also shows how to create a battery power source for the camera. The article is about using MSRS to control a R/C car but the code for the camera is at the bottom. http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2007/01/22/1507304.aspx
With that said I am thinking of creating an interface using C Sharp to access each video camera and use roborealm to than do some CV when necessary.
Hope this helps some other people.
Also let me know if roborealm will work like this I saw a tutorial to connect roborealm to MSRS but have not read it yet so I am assuming that my idea will work
Thanks

You might be able to try with the HTTP_READ module from RoboRealm. This module is built to be used in that scenario to read images across the network that are available over HTTP.

Hey STeven I have decided to go with an Axis ip camera from what I have read they appear to have the best camera that is open to being modified. I also noticed that the Roborealm faq states that Axis cameras are supported. I know you stated some problems with the D-Link camera so the Axis camera may be an alternative I will let you know how my project goes

Sounds good. Yes, the Axis cameras are supported and we've had a couple people use them. But let us know how it goes!
