Rectangular DataMatrix barcode Doug from United States [1 posts] |

Hi,
I just purchase a commercial license of roborealm to test the possibility of using it in our production environment. Part of what I want to do is match two barcodes. Both are datamatrix but one is a rectangle (example attached). The rectangular version will not decode. Are there any plan to add it as an option?
We have 6 production lines that we will want to automate with two cameras each (A roborealm license for each) so if you have any contacts you would recommend on the camera side that would be great. Doesn't seem the usb camera have reasonable throughput. Would like to use GigE or something like that. We would like to implement ourselves if possible but have very little experience on the camera side.
Thanks

Added to the most recent version.
In terms of cameras, for barcodes you are probably best of with a higher quality machine vision camera that can provide the barcode image in a sharp way even when moving. If you can focus on just the barcode you will not need one with very high resolution ... just as long as the image is sharp.
The Genicam module should provide an interface to most Gigi cameras. You can also look at the supported MV cameras that have their own modules:
