Use of IP cam pan/tilt to control robot

I'm trying to control an Arduino-based robot over the internet using an IP cam.  The idea is to use the camera's pan/tilt controls to command the robot's motors.  Would appreciate any advice regarding how to do this and which IP cam would be suitable.

We noticed an interesting feature of one of the Foscam's while developing a module for that camera


which (for the more expensive versions) provides a serial interface out from the Camera that could be used into an Arduino. Their website is undergoing an upgrade so I can't find the right model # but it might be an easy way to get what you want. Worth a look ...
