Installation problem

Hi to all,
I usually use MRDS R2 (the latest version), and I don't know if the Roborealm version I downloaded is ok for may version of MRDS.
The instructions refer to the 1.5 version (express- I have academic but I don't think it is a problem).
Can someone tell me what are the steps I have to follow to run the service?

Thanks in advance,

Alba

Hi Alba,

I don't know if you've already seen this but this is the installation instructions for the 2008 Express edition. I don't know if this is what you meant by "the instructions refer to v1.5" but its worth showing you the link just in case.

http://www.roborealm.com/help/MSRS.php

If you've already seen this or it doesn't help, let me know.

Cheers

I followed these instructions also, but the dss service is still having an error.
I had to make one minor change to the instructions...

in Step 9)
This will open a command console within the MSRS folder. Within that console type bin\dsshost /p:50000 /t:50001 /m:"Config\Interface.manifest.xml" which will start the MSRS system and register the RoboRealm interface.

I had to change /m:"Config\Interface.manifest.xml" to /m:"sample\Config\Interface.manifest.xml"
then it seemed to run, BUT then I get the following error:

**  Error creating service.  Service type:http://www.roborealm.com/2008/12/interface.html [11/05/2010 11:32:59][http://midlap165.zygo.com:50000/constructor]
*** Service creation failure most common reason:
- Service contract identifier in manifest or Create request does not match Contract.Identifier
- Service references a different version of runtime assemblies
*  Manifest load complete

What does this mean?

Thanks for any help.

You will have to target a previous .net framework and recompile all classes to get that to work. The issue is that the dsshost is compiled with version 3.5 of .net.

STeven.
