connection in c++

Hi

I'm trying to make works the example you give us in c++ but I'm steel block in the early beginning.
programmation is not my field, i realy don't know how to manage this mistake.

do you get an idea of what i have to do?
do you know some website where i can find good tutorial to connect a C++ program with other software?
