Hokuyo URG Laser

Hello Everyone,
I have a Hokuyo URG laser sensor (-04LX-UG01), I would like to connect the device to my laptop(Windows system) and working on Matlab rather than Visual Studio, so any one could help me to figure it out please? any comment would be appreciated .
