Quick Question 4 Steve Anonymous |

Hey Steve!
Just a quick question. With Object Recognition, I have trained the objects. They have the square box and tells what they are. When I leave RR, I have the objects in the folders. Now, HOW do I get the RR to recognize the objects when I put them in the picture and tell me? I have already trained them. Now what do i do to place the items in the field of view and have the RR tell me which items are what?
I hope I have asked clearly.
Thanks,
Mel

Mel,
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. If you see the objects with the square box ... then isn't that in the main RR window where the webcam is streaming information? Or where are you seeing the square box?
Once the module is running you should just be able to show the same object/image in view of the webcam with that module running at it should then identify that object using the default green box. Or are you not seeing this?
If you are doing this and the object doesn't appear check that the thing you are showing is very similar to the template you created. Also be sure that any changes to the folder contents you will need to retrain the specific method on.
Perhaps a screenshot would help us understand your question?

Thanks for the reply, Steven.
I have the camera setup permanently. I put an item (waterbottle) on the table and left it in the same place. I trained it. During training, I got the red box with the title of what it was. I turned off the machine and turned it back on. The bottle and camera was in the same place, but unless I go through the training again, it doesn't recognize the item. I did find the item in the objects folder where it was supposed to be. I did not move or change the folder.
It could be my computer. It has been acting weird lately.
do you understand now?
Thanks,
Mel

Mel,
Ok, thanks, that makes much better sense.
Can you try with the latest version (2.35.4) and see if you get a different behavior? We checked this issue for all techniques and can't seem to replicate with the current version so it might be fixed.
Did you exit RR normally after training (pressing the X button) or did you abruptly turn off the entire machine?
Which recognition method were you using?
Thanks,
STeven.

I closed with the x. I was using the default way you had it set to train it. I will try your suggestion.
Thanks,
Mel
