Camera Exposure

Is there a way to determine the camera expsosure settings. My Imaging Source camera has a bad habit of losing its settings if it is disconnected. The auto-exposure property on the camera turns back on. Unfortunately the camera properties module is causing RR to crash on Win7.

I have not been able to figure it out. The application has run well for me but I need to tell the operator if the camera needs to be setup again. Any Ideas?
