Motors Variable Problem

Hello,
I am having problems with the Lego NXT module. Whenever I want the motors to stop, i set a variable of 0, but then the motors go full speed.
What is the thing that i am making it wrong?

Dario,
The Lego NXT motor values range from 0 to 255 with 128 being neutral ... not 0. 0 is full speed backwards with 255 being full speed forward!
