Poor AVI speed with new version

I just downloaded the latest version of RR because i had problems with crashes when using flood fill under Vista. In the old version the avi´s i used played nice and smooth in realtime framerate, but after the upgrade the playback is extremely slow. Why is that?? The speed is less then 1 frame per 3 second or so. Its the same files and the same computer i used an hour ago with perfect result.

Some more info: The computer i normally use for this has a AMD Duocore CPU. I just tried the same version of RR on a computer with Intel CPU and then there is no problem. Weird.
