Hi,
Currently the CMUCam3 requires a specialized serial driver to grab images from the device. Thus it is not compatible with VFW or DirectX. We can, however, look into creating a module that will read the image over serial and provide control over the CMUCam3 but this will require us to contact CMUCam which may or may not take a while.
Note the "CMUcam3 Frame Grabber" which would be functionally very similar to our needed module. In the meantime, it might be possible to use that program and send the image into RoboRealm using the RoboRealm API ...
Perhaps you can help by contacting the CMUCam folks and ask about a RoboRealm plugin.

Bonjour,
Please do keep in contact with us and if you can get into contact with the CMUCam3 people please let us know. We'd be happy to create a new module that would interface the CMUCam into RoboRealm but will need the participation of the CMUCam vendor in order to do so.
Thanks,
STeven.

Guido,
Unfortunately this thread did not continue and there are no current plans to interface the CMUCam to RoboRealm. This is largely due to the lack of interest in that solution as most either use the CMUCam as is or an inexpensive webcam connected to a PC for use with RoboRealm. Connecting the CMUCam to RoboRealm is an expensive solution that does not appear to make much sense.
Perhaps you can tell us more about why you intend to use the CMUCam in this way? Perhaps this will provide us with a reason to create such a module.
STeven.

I was thinking that it would be easier to create and test the required vision functions with RR and once done, use an interface module to generate the source code to program the cmucam3 directly from RR.

Just to confirm
CE - NO!
XPe - YES!

XPe still needs x86. Only WinCE can run on ARM (Most tablets).

That's correct ...that's why it does not work on CE.
We're ontop of the Android system but that conversion is still going to take many months for release.
After that, other OSs like Linux will follow. Doubt we will get to CE anytime soon.
