Then I'll probably get colour and mono to test with.

I have to check features as well as differentiate between black, grey and beige plastic. So I could also mono, plus a cheap webcam in the background to check part colour.

Roland,

It depends on your application. That camera has a rolling shutter which will not be good for fast moving objects or quick exposures (i.e. light strobing). If your project also requires high precision and color is not a benefit, you may consider a grayscale only camera as the prevision will be better for a single gray channel than an RGB camera (RGB cameras have to average 3 values to get a single color which tends to blur the image ever so slightly).

Lastly, just be aware its only 23 frames at the max resolution which is a bit slower than typically (30 fps) seen in most webcams.
