You will have to use very sharp lighting from the sides to highlight those particular numbers. Frontal lighting on very small depressions/elevations will not work reliably. You can see similar lighting adjustments when trying to identify coins:

One the lighting is corrected you can apply various modules to segment the edge components which would be a pre-filter to actual OCR.

Hey everybody,

I'm trying to get OCR to work but no luck so far.

I want to try the OCR function to read all 4 numbers in the attached image but whatever I try, the OCR-Result don't show me any number.

Anybody out here that can help me to get going with this? Any help would be appreciated.
