Hi EDV - yes, navigation is one thing that I want to investigate - your videos are very impressive and I'd like to do something similar. I've had a quick play with the object recognition, but there is a lot of stuff in there that I need to investigate. Finding the time is the hardest part!

You made nice robot!
What if you could try also navigation with it?

I have two pretty videos regarding visual navigation.

This is the latest project that I am working on. It uses a mini-computer (eBox 3350MX) that runs winXP and Roborealm. I'll do some youtube videos when I get it all working nicely.

thank you though and really cool website by the way, i really like it! super cool projects definitely keeping that in my bookmarks bar. ive recently started a big project and this arm is part of that.

i will look into USB HID though cause im sure its doable. just got to find the right sequences

Ah well, if you want a way to link RR directly via that usb interface then you will probably need someone at RR to design you a new module. I don't think there is anything at the moment that will do the job.

Thank you for that its actually a really cool site!!

Unfortunately getting an Arduino board is not an option at the moment i got the Usb interface addon to go with it i was hoping for maybe some information on a module that could conttol the servos directly i had a look at USB HID module but i dont have the sequence patterns to activate them. however i will look into getting an Arduino its about time i get one but in the meantime i was hoping to control it with a different module...

Hi CJ,

I used one of these in a project a while ago with our Spykee robot. We got ours from Jaycar but it looks like exactly the same product.

If you want to link this to Roborealm I think your best bet would be to control it via an Arduino board. You will need to cut off the manual control board and wire each of the motors to the Arduino pins, then you could use the Arduino module in RR to control the arm. You could even mount a webcam on top of the arm and you'd have some vision as well.

OWI-535 Robotic arm Edge

Hello,

I have just bought an OWI - 535 Robotic arm Edge with USB interface add on. and what i would like to do is control it with buttons to start out with and as i cannot see any modules specifically for this robot i have no clue how to do this? could you please point me in th right dirction of how to control this?

the arm has several names
