Why don't you try using cmucam3 instead of cmucam1 which has a better and faster performance.

CMUcam and AVRcam are not being sold or produced anymore. We'd recommend looking at the gumstik boards as a potential replacement. See

i am turkish and senior mechatronics engineering student in my country. i need CMUcam1 robocam to develop a vision based obstacle avodiance mobile robot. Is there any one who recomends stores to buy ???
