Control of electron-multiplying gain in EMCCD cameras

An Electron-Multiplying CCD (EMCCD) uses an electron multiplying structure built into the sensor to obtain high sensitivity in low light conditions, and is an alternative to image-intensified CCDs. EMCCD cameras are expensive and come with their own software, but it would be nice to eventually use RoboRealm as an alternative. Has anyone in this group experience with EMCCD cameras such as Andor's less expensive Luca ? Probably there is insufficient published information to be able to control the EM-gain via the Luca USB-interface.
