temporary image capture

I am looking for a feature similar to video marker, but for a single image (snapshot).

I have two camera feeds. I would like to take a temporary snapshot from one of the streams and have it as a marker, so that I can refer to the image (not video). Then I can do the same for the other video stream, and have the second marker snapshot with another name.

Application for it is that it would be extremely useful in transmitting multiple video streams through a single video line over my network. With this feature, I can demultiplex the video into multiple snapshots and display through mosaic as separate videos, at a tolerable frame rate.

Cheers,
Nemanya
