You probably need to look at servo's then, if the disconnect is easily to turn on and off you can take a look at the item below

or just do a search on servo and usb and you should find what your looking for

Hello,

Using a WebCam and RoboRealm I'm trying to create a thermostat.

Based on the example: http://www.roborealm.com/tutorial/Digital_Reader/slide010.php
I can now read the temperature from the thermometer's display but how to disconnect the heater from the main supply?

I need a device, activated by usb, serial port or parallel port allowing to connect/disconnect from main supply...

Where to find such device?
